The success of two Inverness initiatives was recognised at the Scotland Loves Local Awards.

The Wasps Trust was named as a runner-up in the creative town category, while Visit Inverness Loch Ness Tourism BID was a runner-up in the climate and net zero section.

Organised by Scotland’s Towns Partnership (STP), the awards recognise and reward the remarkable work taking place to improve communities.

The Wasps Trust was nominated for its work on the Inverness Creative Academy redevelopment project. Between 2018 and 2022, Wasps completed a £6 million project to transform the B-listed Midmills Buildings.

Meanwhile, judges heard how Visit Inverness Loch Ness has committed to creating a climate action plan. Launched in June, it includes sustainability in its business development subgroup.
