Nairnites should keep their eyes peeled for a cameo appearance by an Ashers bakery van in the film What We Did on Our Holiday being screened by Cinema Nairn this Friday.

The screening of films had to be cancelled due to Covid but Cinema Nairn is delighted to be back at Nairn Community and Arts Centre.

During the film, Ashers is supplying some outside catering for a scene in this feel-good movie which was filmed in the Highlands.

Starring David Tennant as Doug and his wife Abi (Rosamunde Pike) they prepare to travel to the Highlands with their three children for Doug’s father’s birthday (Billy Connolly).

A Cinema Nairn spokesman said: "It is a very uplifting film to kick off the season to take us away from the morbidity of Covid."

For contact tracing purposes, tickets will be sold in advance in person, by phone and online through the Nairn Community and Arts Centre, 01667 453476 or emailing info@nairncc.co.uk

The spokesman added: "We intend to use some of the films which were on the previous programme and have been in waiting ever since.

"Hence we are showing two films per month until December."

The next film is Sunshine on Leith on September 17.
