Special books celebrated by HighlandLIT
HighlandLIT, the Inverness-based group for everyone interested in books and writing celebrated Book Week Scotland on Tuesday November 15 with a ‘Special Books’ evening at the Glen Mhor Hotel.
Lynn Cassells, co-author with Sandra Baer of Our Wild Faring Life: Adventures on a Scottish Highland Croft spoke about their journey into crofting as they learned from scratch on Lynbreck Croft near Grantown.
They are totally committed to using the land in an earth-friendly, sustainable way, and producing high quality nutritious food.
Lynn’s presentation was live-streamed on Zoom, reaching a wider audience.
And then in the second half, members and friends of HighlandLIT spoke about the ‘special books’ which had motivated them to seek new ways of being, new adventures in life.
Copies of these books and more were distributed, courtesy of the Scottish Book Trust to help spread the message of the power of books to enrich and inspire. The full list of ‘Special Books’ which were recommended is here: https://www.highlandlit.com/a-special-book
HighlandLIT are grateful to the Scottish Book Trust whose generous funding made this event possible.
