Speed dating event set to take place at Inverness cafe in aid of Highland Hospice and ice centre
A speed dating event is set to take place in Inverness in aid of the Highland Hospice and Inverness Ice Centre.
Taking place at Grain and Grind on Tomnahurich Street on February 16, the event will allow those looking for love to meet new people.
Organised by Rachel Smart, an Inverness Courier journalist, who is taking part in this year’s Strictly Inverness competition the event is one of her fundraisers.
She said: “Organising fundraising is probably the hardest part of taking part in Strictly Inverness — although the dancing is hard too!
“I just wanted to create an opportunity for people to meet together face to face in a safe environment when so much of our lives and how we meet one another is now done online.
“We already have quite a few signed up, but we are definitely in need of more — especially men! So please if you can and fancy trying something new, get yourself signed up!
“I just want to say a big thanks to Joanna and John from Grain and Grind who have been so supportive in allowing me to host the event at the cafe. They also make a mean hot drink, with cakes being provided by Poppy at the Cake Shop next door to Grain and Grind.”
Tickets cost £10 and the event will run from 5pm to 7pm.
