With more than 15 creations dotted around Nairn, the Easter decorations are a regular appointment for locals and visitors.

Caroline Mackay, who first started the group, said about the Yarnbombers’ latest artwork: “I am amazed at how creative they all are and simply love seeing all their hard work bringing a smile.“

One postbox topper was specifically dedicated from her daughter to Margaret “Dill” MacGowan, whose husband recently passed away and who loves the yarnbombers’ decorations.

The group is busy behind the scenes to organise their future displays and involving the local community.

“We are beavering away with what's going to happen next,” said Caroline.

“Ann Forsyth and Heather Forbes members of the team recently visited several classes in Millbank School for a "Show and Tell" kind of session. As part of this Ann has asked the children to draw pictures of what they would like to see on a Postbox Topper.

“It is hoped that the Yarnbombers Nairn team can bring some of these ideas to fruition and put on display at the Showfield in August. It will be interesting to see what the children will come up with. “

She added that they are still seeking help from the public with donations of crocheted/knitted flowers to help provide a larger display for the month of August — anyone who wants to get in touch can visit Yarnbombers Nairn’s Facebook page.
