A stunning double rainbow over an Inverness housing development has a message of 'Stay Home and Stay Safe', says the photographer who captured the moment.

Andrew Cregan (50) took the photo yesterday evening on the Ness Castle housing development.

Mr Cregan, who is an air traffic controller, has gathered quite a following as he takes photos of his daily walks around the city.

But this picture, captured on Eilean Donan Road, at 6pm is particularly special for him.

He said: "I had just left the house at 6.25pm to walk my faithful Border terrier, Rufus.

"We were only a few metres from the house when a heavy shower started.

"As the rain doesn’t bother Rufus, I decided to continue, and he was keen to get going.

"The sun was also shining, which when combined with a good rain shower, frequently presents a rainbow.

"As I glanced behind me, I was delighted to spot the double rainbow, and to capture the moment in a photograph."

Inspired by the message of the ongoing coronavirus campaign and use of the rainbow symbol he said: "I have called it Stay Home Stay Safe."
