STEWART NICOL: The Inverness Courier columnist talks about how great it is to have face-to-face events back again
I’m sure many of you, like me, will be pleased to see an increasing number of visitors to our city centre and wider region. It’s great to see bustling streets and more importantly busy shops, restaurants, pubs and hotels.
And I’m delighted to see that Eden Court Theatre’s Under Canvas is back in its stunning location and with an inspiring programme of events that will run across the summer.
The events team at Inverness chamber are busy organising our own inspiring programme of face-to-face events as we look to coming months and as we seek to connect member businesses to support their growth.
We’re delighted that our eighth Highland Business Week has just been launched and is attracting significant interest from businesses near and far. In addition to a number of member’s events, we have our own key events: Highland Spotlight exhibition and the annual Highland Business Awards.
Highland Spotlight remains the only dedicated business-to-business exhibition in the Highlands, giving exhibitors the unique opportunity to make new contacts and find new buyers or suppliers. In addition to the all-day exhibition, we always run a number of seminars throughout the programme. Interest in running a seminar this year is particularly strong, with all available spaces booked.
In terms of our Highland Business Awards, our events team have reassessed all award categories as they always do, and we look forward to using this magnificent event to celebrate the very best of Highland business achievement, their leadership and staff members.
Our keynote speaker has been long booked, and the awards lunch promises to be a great experience for all involved and a superb finale to what I’m sure will be another fantastic event.
Inverness Chamber of Commerce’s events programme underpins all that we do as an organisation and is vital as we connect and support businesses in the city and across the wider region.
As such it’s great to see increasing activity around our events programme, along with an encouraging enthusiasm around being able to engage again on an in-person basis.
