Inverness Academy Street ‘disturbance’ sparks arrest and court appearance

A man is expected to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court on Tuesday following a disturbance in the city centre.

A number of police vehicles and officers attended an incident outside the former Filling Station in Academy Street at around 6.25pm on Monday evening.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called to a report of a disturbance in the Academy Street area of Inverness.

“Officers attended and there were no reports of any injuries.

“A 39-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident and is expected to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court on Tuesday. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
