System failure at London Gatwick Airport grounds Inverness flight

A TOTAL of 153 passengers were grounded when today’s 7am flight from Inverness to London Gatwick was cancelled.

The Sussex airport was hit by a computer system failure last night.

One passenger was so furious at the news that he tweeted: “@easyJet thank you very much for cancelling our flight with about six hours to go from Inverness to Gatwick airport!

“Received a text message at 11.30pm telling us you’ve cancelled our flights we were to catch at 6am totally leaving us with no other way to catch our connection.”

An easyJet spokesman said: “As soon as the cancellation was made yesterday affected customers were advised via email and SMS and our flight tracker was updated.

“Although this is outside of our control we would like to apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused and would like to reassure them we are doing all possible to minimise any disruption.”
