Care home residents in Inverness can take a trip down memory lane after receiving special Christmas deliveries of this newspaper’s popular Inverness Remembered publication.

Now in its 16th year, the annual favourite stocking-filler for curious and nostalgic Invernessians was gifted to 16 care homes in and around the city.

The new edition, freshly on the shelves and now available to order, brings together the latest batch of fascinating photographs and memorabilia submitted by members of the public.

“It is hopefully a nice walk down memory lane for a lot of people living in these homes,” Emma Glass, Highland News and Media’s events manager, said. “They will recognise a lot of what is in the images and, hopefully, with that, there will be some pleasant recollections and happy memories.

“It has obviously been a very tough year for residents and staff in the homes, and it is good to be able to give them a wee Christmas gift.”

Edited by local historian and author Jim Miller, the book is sent far and wide every year, with submissions and sales from London to Canada and Australia.

Anyone wishing to purchase the latest Inverness Remembered edition can do so at Waterstones, WH Smith or their local newsagent, or by calling the Inverness Courier at 01463 233059
