Over 2000 images of child abuse were found on an Inverness man's mobile phone after police received intelligence and obtained a warrant to search his personal property.

Inverness Sheriff Court heard that on March 11 last year, officers tracked down 28-year-old Connor Goodall, of Warrand Road, to his work and subsequent analysis of his device revealed the obscene material.

Fiscal depute Emily Hood told Sheriff Eilidh Macdonald that 498 photos of young females engaged in sexual activity with young males and adults in the most serious category were discovered.

She added that another 495 in the lesser category were also found and 1646 in the lowest category involving children in erotic posing were also on the phone. All were inaccessible and downloaded between November 13, 2023 and January 9, 2024.

Sentence was deferred on Goodall who admitted possessing the offensive material until April 8 for a background report and he was immediately placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register.
