WITH cinemas and other arts venues unlikely to open any time soon, movie magic will be brought to the city in the form of a drive-in.

Tickets priced at £35 per car (£32.50 and £2.50 booking fee) will go on sale today for each of the four nights of blockbuster classics – Toy Story (PG) on Friday, August 7; Grease (PG) on Saturday, August 8; Joker (15) on Sunday, August 9 and Braveheart (15) on Monday, August 10 – being shown at Inverness Caley Thistle’s ground.

Callum Campbell, who is from Glasgow and behind the idea, said: “About 4500 people have indicated they are interested in coming along. If all those want to go, tickets might be scarce. Space means there are just 150 tickets on sale for each night.”

Social-distancing measures will be in place and people will only be allowed to leave their car to go to the toilet. It is likely to be portable toilets rather than any inside the stadium, but discussions with the football club were taking place as the Courier went to print yesterday afternoon.

Movie audio will be transmitted to each car via radio or Bluetooth and burgers, fries and milkshakes are likely to be available to order and delivered to each car.
