Those living in the area will be allowed unlimited return visits from October to March, along with a 10 per cent discount on food and drinks (excluding alcohol) after purchasing full-price tickets.

The Inverness Castle project is part of the Inverness and Highland City-Region Deal, a joint initiative supported by up to £315 million investment from the UK and Scottish governments, Highland Council, Highlands and Islands Enterprise and the University of the Highlands and Islands, aimed at stimulating sustainable regional economic growth.

When buying a ticket online, Highland residents can unlock a special pass using their Highlife card.

This pass grants unlimited, bookable repeat visits to the Inverness Castle Experience from October to March (terms and conditions will apply).

This exclusive opportunity allows locals to explore the attraction as often as they like, immersing themselves in Spirit of the Highlands stories while enjoying discounted food and drinks.

Highland Council’s Inverness City leader Ian Brown, co-chair of Inverness Castle Delivery Group, said: “The Inverness Castle Experience is set to become a key landmark in the region and ensuring that our Highland communities can enjoy it throughout the year is a great move. This initiative encourages local engagement and fosters pride in our heritage and Highland stories.”

All visits, including repeat entries, must be booked at least 24 hours in advance and online bookings offer discounted prices compared to walk-up purchases.

Michael Golding, chair of High Life Highland which operates the Highlife card scheme, highlighted the benefits for residents and the wider tourism sector, saying: “This pass provides an excellent opportunity for Highland residents to explore and revisit the attraction during the quieter months.

“This initiative will help strengthen the connection between the community and this exciting new experience, supporting the visitor economy by spreading footfall throughout the year.”

The Inverness Castle Experience will bring Highland life and culture to the forefront, offering visitors an immersive journey through the stories, landscapes and people that make the region unique.

The project, opening this year, will benefit from £30 million in investment from the Scottish and UK governments, Highland Council, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, and a range of other partners to support its redevelopment.

Family tickets start from £28, adult tickets from £20, child tickets from £14 and senior tickets from £16.
