A9 roadworks on Cromarty Bridge set to start on April 14
THE timetable for roadworks on a key A9 link in Ross-shire has been outlined before it starts next month.
On behalf of Transport Scotland, BEAR Scotland will be carrying out essential surfacing improvements on the A9 at Cromarty Bridge, with works due to start on Monday, April 14.
The £250,000 investment by Transport Scotland will see a 460m stretch of the carriageway resurfaced, “to improve the durability and resilience of the A9”.

Works will start at 7pm on Monday, April 14 and are expected to be completed by 6am on the morning of Tuesday, April 22. There will be no works on Friday, Saturday or Sunday nights.
To protect roadworkers and motorists, there will be a lane closure with convoy in place each night.
The A9 will be open outwith working hours to keep disruption to a minimum, with a speed restriction of 30mph in place as traffic will be running over a temporary surface.
Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said: “This surfacing project on the A9 will help address defects and greatly improve the surface for motorists.
“Our teams will complete the works as quickly and safely as possible, and we thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance while we complete these works. We encourage motorists to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”

Materials removed from the existing carriageway will be recycled using SEPA approved methods, according to BEAR.
