Top boss at Port of Cromarty Firth to step down
The chief executive of the Port of Cromarty Firth has announced that he is retiring.
Bob Buskie has been the top boss at the Port for the last 10 years and over this time has seen the business' turnover, staff and land capacity double.
A spokesperson for the Port of Cromarty Firth said: "After ten years as the CEO of Port of Cromarty Firth, Bob Buskie has elected to retire.
"His tenure has seen the Port’s turnover, staff and land capacity double, and culminated in Inverness and Cromarty Firth winning Green Freeport status for the Highlands in January."
Cruise ships, renewable energy and oil and gas have all been major sources of income for the Port over the past year.
Bob Buskie had said in a previous interview earlier in the year, that a particular highlight for him over the past 12 months had been the successful green freeport status.
He said: "For us to be able to gather so many people together, and to win the bid was a massive achievement, and shows the strength of resources we have here in the region."
A recruitment process has now begun to find his successor.
