Travel disruption as departures and arrivals at Inverness airport hit by delays due to 'low visibility'
Delays, some which could leave passengers waiting for over eight hours, have hit departures and arrivals at Inverness Airport this morning amid icy temperatures across the north.
Passengers headed for Gatwick are facing several hours on the ground with the 6.35am Easyjet flight now estimated to depart at 3.16pm.
The airline stated that "low visibility" and poor weather conditions had caused the delay.
The Loganair flight to Manchester, which was scheduled to depart at 6.30am, left almost two hours later at 8.28am.
Later flights to Benbecula (10.10am) and Sumburgh (10.30am) are also facing delays.
Loganair have reported delays to arrivals into Inverness, with the Manchester to Inverness flight, originally scheduled to land at 10am, now expected at 11.16am.
The 2.35pm flights from Sumburgh and Kirkwall to Inverness are also expected to be delayed by over an hour, with an expected arrival time of 3.40pm.
Evening departures to Benbecula and Stornoway are also expected to be delayed.
