Weather disruption continued on Tuesday following heavy rain and strong winds in the north.

Flood warnings, one of which has closed the A832 at Moy Bridge since early on Monday, remained in force on Tuesday morning.

The three warnings cover parts of Strath Oykel, Moy Bridge, and Strathglass. Moy Bridge, which forms part of the North Coast 500 touring route, was still closed at the time of writing.

Lower level flood alerts were also still in place for the wider Caithness & Sutherland; Wester Ross; Easter Ross & Great Glen; Findhorn, Nairn, Moray & Speyside; and Skye & Lochaber areas.

Speed restrictions, which caused the cancellation of several trains on the Far North Line on Monday, were also continuing on Tuesday - with ScotRail advising train passengers to expect delays.

At the time of writing several journeys were already running a handful of minutes late and buses were replacing the train between Georgemas Junction and Thurso on some journeys in order to alleviate the delays caused by the speed restrictions.

ScotRail has advised that the disruption is expected to continue until 10am on Wednesday.

Elsewhere, ferry passengers were also facing disruption on Tuesday and Wednesday.

CalMac has advised travellers looking to use its Ullapool-Stornoway route that some crossings have been cancelled.

The 5.30pm Ullapool to Stornoway sailing on Tuesday and the 7am Stornoway to Ullapool crossing on Wednesday were both listed as cancelled in CalMac's latest update at 7.19am.

The overnight freight ferry sailings were also cancelled in both directions.
