A union's office in Inverness looks set to relocate in the future after the building currently housing it was put up for let.

Unison, which is Britain and Europe’s largest public sector union, and has 150,000 members in Scotland alone, has an office in Shore Street.

But an advert offering it for let for £30,000 per annum has now gone live on property website Zoopla.

The Inverness Courier reached out to Unison, which explained that the building entering the rental market was the landlord's choice rather than theirs, and stressed that they planned to remain in the city at an alternative base.

They did not reveal their potential future location when asked.

They also stressed that the office is a base primarily used for administration purposes, such as paperwork and filing, and that any relocation would have no impact on the union's various member branches dotted across the Highlands.
