Update: Highland Council issues new guidance over the wearing of face coverings in schools aimed at suppressing the spread of Covid-19
Schools in Inverness and the Highland region have been given new advice relating to the latest guidance from the Scottish Government.
Highland Council sent an email to schools across the region yesterday alerting them to the changes in the wearing of face coverings.
In an email to all parents yesterday Lawrence Sutherland, the headteacher of Cradlehall Primary School, alerted them to the latest changes.
In his email he said: "Late this afternoon the school received updated guidance from Highland Council regarding the above. This guidance was based upon the changes announced at the end of last week by the Scottish Government.
"With immediate effect, could I ask all parents/carers to wear face coverings when dropping off and collecting children from school. Also, if you should have reason to call in person at reception, please wear a face covering when entering the building.
"The above does not of course apply to those individuals who are exempt from wearing face coverings. Should you have any queries regarding this email, please do not hesitate to contact me, here at the school."
