UPDATE: Kessock Bridge on A9 closed in both directions with emergency services on scene

The Kessock Bridge has been closed following an incident still being dealt with by emergency services. The public has been asked to avoid the area.

A MAJOR A9 road link has been closed in both directions following an earlier reported police incident.

The Kessock Bridge incident was first flagged around 7.13pm this evening.

The route, which links the Black Isle with Inverness, was initally closed northbound.

In an update, Traffic Scotland, which monitors Scotland’s trunk roads, reported at 8.49pm that the bridge has been closed in both directions.

Emergency services remain at the scene and people are urged tio avoid the area.
