Police have issued an appeal after a boat was set alight in the early hours of the morning.

As we reported this morning two fire appliances were called the the scene of the blaze in Cameron Court, Smithton at 3am.

Police have now said they are treating the fire as deliberate and are appealing to anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area, or who may have dashcam or CCTV footage that would be useful to come forward.

Police can be contacted on 101, quoting incident 0324 of 21 March, 2025.

Alternatively information can be passed on anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
