Power has been restored to several Inverness homes after an unplanned outage had left hundreds of residents without electricity this morning.

The fault, reported to Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) at 7.28am, was attended to by engineers at 8.15am and power was restored within the hour.

The exact cause of the outage is not know, however SSEN advised it was likely to be “a fault on our overhead network”.
