WATCH: Alpacas, Dream Rings and dancing dragons feature in quirky Inverness tourism video
A quirky tourism video featuring alpacas and dancing dragons has been put together to showcase Inverness as a vibrant city.
The famous local Dream Ring delicacy, produced by Harry Gow Bakers, also gets a look during the video to promote the Highland capital to a global audience.
It has been put together for Visit Inverness Loch Ness Tourism Business Improvement District (BID) and features local landmarks, residents and businesses as well as tourists.
Created and directed by Inverness company Firth Studio, Discover Our City shows a snapshot with a humorous twist of putting a promotional campaign together.
It was filmed in 12 locations around Inverness over four days with the grand finale being a celebratory parade along the River Ness which involved rounding up more than 100 people from 18 different businesses, groups and societies and organising the road closure.
It was led by the Inverness Royal British Legion Pipeband which was followed by Highland dancers from Cheryl Heggie School of Dance, walking tour tourists and a team from Harry Gows Bakers carrying trays of cakes including Dream Rings.
Alpacas Bronze and Shadow from Invercannich Farm took part alongside a team from Culloden Battlefield dressed in traditional costumes.
Local sports representation included teams involved with Inverness Shiny club, the Highland Rugby Club and the Inverness Lions Basketball club while cycling, paddleboarders, wild swimmers and golfers were among the outdoor activities highlighted.
Colourful flags paraded by the LGBTQI community gave a carnival feel and Yee's North of Scotland Lion and dragon dance team also added to the vibrancy.
Visit Inverness Loch Ness Tourism Bid stated that creating the Discover Our City video was about showing a destination was always more than people might imagine.
"Inverness is known for being a tranquil Highland location, which if this is what you are looking for, it can be that," it stated.
"But what you maybe don't know is Inverness is a vibrant, community-driven, welcoming and inclusive city. The perfect blend of Scottish tradition and culture, that we are very proud of, combined with new and exciting experiences to be enjoyed when visiting."
