Inverness Choral Society performed Christmas carols for four hours to generate cash for Mikeysline.

Shoppers gave generously as dozens of singers entertained crowds at the Eastgate Shopping Centre today.

Volunteers for the mental health charity collected donations at the event – which ran from 11am-3pm.

A range of Christmas carols were sung including Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Deck the Halls and Winter Wonderland.

The tally, which is still to be counted, is thought to be at least a three-figure sum.

One shopper, who donated £25, said: "It's so nice to hear live Christmas music instead of a CD over the speakers. Mikeysline is also such a great cause. I know people who have been helped by them and I referred people there too. If this money helps them help just one person, it's worth it."
