WATCH: 'Something for everyone' at Moy Country Fair as crowds return to popular event near Inverness
CROWDS flocked at a popular event south of Inverness for a day celebrating field sports and Highland producers.
Moy Country Fair was back this year with an array of new entries such as axe-throwing and the Highland Food & Drinks Trail as well as a children's corner.
With gundog demonstrations, a pet parade, an angling corner, clay pigeon shooting and other competitions alongside a range of stalls showcasing crafts and flavours from the Highlands, there was something for everyone at the two-day event.
James Campbell, chair of the event's committee, said: "We are delighted that we had a good crowd and that we got some good areas and novelties in Moy this year.
"We have archery back this year as well as a new angling corner and a children's just to mention a few – there is really something for everyone. It's an all-round good family event.
"I think it's important for people to see what goes on in the Highlands – and that is from field sports but also good food! We are keen to promote Highland food in our halls and our craft tents and we are delighted that many will come to Moy and enjoy these products."
Douglas Hardie, founder of the Highland Food & Drinks Trail, said it was a great opportunity for the collective to be there for the first year.
"We were approached by Moy Country Fair who were looking for something different from the catering tent and they loved the idea of having many small businesses using local produce rather than having one caterer, to have a wider range of choice.
"It's an opportunity for us to show what we can do.
"There is live music and a tent as well as other things happening around us so from a street food point of view, that's the perfect combination!"
The event was in its 43rd edition – the 39th to be held in the Moy Estate's fields.
