It was another busy week for Inverness Sheriff Court with a number of cases covered by the Inverness Courier.

Here are a few to hit the headlines.

Inverness woman gets unpaid work for being involved in supply of drugs

A woman who was concerned in the supply of class A drugs has been ordered to carry out unpaid work in the community as punishment.

Karolina Paliwoda (33), of Benula Road, Inverness, was placed under supervision and ordered to carry out 180 hours of unpaid work after admitting being involved in the supply of cocaine and diamorphine.

At Inverness Sheriff Court, Sheriff Ian Cruickshank said there would be a review of her order on June 26.

Inverness man ordered to carry out unpaid work after an assault

An Inverness man has been ordered to carry out unpaid work after an assault.

Benjamin Drummond (53) appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court and admitted assaulting his victim to severe injury and danger of life outside the city’s Lochalsh Stores on the night of October 28, 2023.

Drummond’s defence solicitor, Marc Dickson, said that his client wanted to apologise unreservedly to his victim.

Inverness pervert who thought he was asking child for pictures — but was speaking to undercover police officer — gets unpaid work

A man who thought he was communicating with a girl under the age of 13, was actually speaking to an undercover police officer.

Calum Thomson (61) sent sexual written communications to a girl he believed to be called “Lara”, uttered sexual remarks regarding clothing and underwear and asked the “girl” to send images of herself.
