Workers respond to a gas leak outside the Eastgate.

A gas leak on an Inverness city centre street caused a business in the Eastgate to temporarily close some of its shutters.

A spokesperson for Eastgate said: “There was a gas leak near the High Street entrance of the centre today. SGN attended the site.

“The doors on the High Street Entrance were closed temporarily to make sure everything was safe and were reopened as soon as this was confirmed to be the case. The centre is now back fully open.’
