Young talent on show as Nairn hosts community drama's national youth competition

Nairn Community & Arts Centre was the stage where young acting talents from communities across Scotland showed off their skills earlier this month.

The final act of the Scottish Community Drama Association's (SCDA) national youth competition saw Kirkintilloch Players winning the Quidi Vidi Trophy with their performance of Teechers by John Godber a

The Colin Peter Theatre Trophy for the team showing the greatest creativity and imagination went to Tal Blairgowrie Players with their performance of Macbeth by Geoff Bamber.

The event saw the teams put on three performances for the audience.

A SCDA spokesperson said the event returned to one of their favourite venues.

Competing firstly in their local area, the winners of that competition progress next to a Regional competition, the winners of which ultimately progressing to the Scottish Final.

Gill James, vice chair of SCDA's Highland Division was there to present the awards and adjudicator Russell Boyce and Carolyn Henderson, National Chair of SCDA attended the event.
