State of ‘premier play park’ prompts safety concerns
I TOOK my grandkids to the town’s premier play park – Whin Park. The place looked tired as several “attractions” were broken or closed.
The boating lake was filthy and unused but I was astounded to see two mini trampolines left open for kids to do damage to their legs if they slipped through the holes. If that did not hurt them then the protruding steel wires might.
You may wish to look for yourself. I have reported this as a health and safety concern to Highland Council.

‘Protest’ art wood dog at riverside
Some Inverness Angling Club members cement in Labrador sculpture within the curved walls of the controversial River Ness Gathering Place artwork in protest against Highland Council.
“The dog carving is entirely relevant to the area, blends naturally with its surroundings and is aesthetically appealing as well as being beautifully artistic which is in stark contrast to the thing next to it.” – Kim Corbett
“Every time I take a visitor for a walk round the islands they ask the same question: ‘What are they building there?’ and then when I reply that it’s ‘art’ they incredulously say ‘It’s finished?!’ The dog is a wonderful protest.” – Cathryn Cash
“I was against the walk way initially but now it’s there I quite like it. As for the dog carving I can only say it is a nice addition and hopefully will stay.” – Colin Duncan
