John Mann says that giving some fresh faces the chance to impress in Ross Sutherland’s Brin Cup group games will give them more options when the league season starts in a couple of weeks.

The Stags played their first group match against Lossiemouth last weekend, going down 62-21.

But the scoreline alone possibly does not give the full picture of the match, as Mann could only take a squad of 16 players to the game, and then he lost three more during the match to injuries.

John Reid suffered a nasty wound when he got stamped on and has already had a subsequent operation on his calf, Brian Davies broke his clavicle, and Ross Gordon – in his first competitive game back at the club in four years – broke a bone in his ankle.
