ALNESS United clinched the first piece of silverware in this season’s North Caledonian League when they narrowly defeated Golspie Sutherland 3-2 in the Football Times Cup final at Couper Park, Helmsdale.

The final, contested between the league’s two in-form clubs, proved to be an entertaining spectacle that certainly lived up to expectations.

In the end it would take a penalty mid-way through the second half to separate the two flying sides.
