Athletes aim to pass school games test

FIVE teenagers from Inverness Harriers have headed down to England to compete against the best young male and female athletes in the UK at the 2018 School Games.

Culloden Academy pupil Matt Macfarlane will be competing in the hammer while Oban High School pupil Finbar Dunne will be competing in the discus at the event taking place at Loughborough University.

Dingwall Academy pupils Ruairidh Munro and Angus Davren will be competing in the 400 metres hurdles and high jump respectively.

While Alness Academy disabled athlete Abbie McNally will be competing in the 100 metres and in the long jump.

The athletes will be flying the flag for their country among 1400 of the UK’s most-talented school age competitors.
