Inverness Caledonian Thistle defender determined to make up receiving first red card of career as they head to Aberdeen to face Cove Rangers
Remi Savage says receiving the first red card of his professional career and being suspended was a frustrating moment.
But he says he is determined to make up for it and help Inverness Caledonian Thistle stay out of the League One relegation zone.
Savage was sent off for the first time in his career in the 1-1 draw against Alloa Athletic two weeks ago.
It meant he was suspended for last week’s heavy 4-1 defeat against Queen of the South in Dumfries.
Savage says he said sorry to his teammates for getting sent off and is determined to make up for it.
He said: "It was frustrating. It was my first red card of my professional career, so it was a tough one to take.
"I want to play every game and play my very best for this team.
"Not to be available was tough and I was annoyed with myself for getting sent off.
"I apologised to the boys and the staff. Hopefully I will be back in against Cove and try to give 100 per cent.”
Inverness are set to travel to Aberdeen to take on Cove Rangers in League One tomorrow afternoon.
Inverness have had mixed fortunes against Cove Rangers this season beating them 2-1 in November.
However, they were hammered by Cove 4-1 at the Caledonian Stadium in December and also knocked out Inverness out of the Scottish Cup this season.
Savage says the players are determined to ensure Inverness avoid having to fight for League One survival and stay out of the relegation play-off zone.
"There is pressure in every game. But pressure is a privilege, and you've got to embrace it.
"Cove are fighting for promotion and we're fighting our own battle. We can only focus on what we can control.
"We want to win all five of these last five games.
"I believe we've got enough quality, from the staff to the gaffer - everyone is helping us with our game.
"We can only look as far ahead as Cove this Saturday. “
