Inverness Caley Thistle head coach Scott Kellacher admits ‘dangerous’ Dumbarton pitch could force a chance of approach in League One relegation battle
Inverness Caledonian Thistle head coach Scott Kellacher has labelled Dumbarton’s pitch “dangerous” - and admits he may be forced to make changes to his starting 11 because of its condition.
Kellacher was in attendance on Tuesday night as Dumbarton pushed League One leaders Arbroath all the way, eventually losing 2-1.
That meant he saw first hand the issues that the Dumbarton Stadium surface threw up, with it becoming something of a war of attrition.
Caley Thistle will inevitably be in for a similar battle this weekend, particularly with the two clubs still occupying the last two spots in the table.
Inverness, though, could potentially move out of the bottom two this weekend if they better Annan Athletic’s result, while a win would see them move 21 points clear of Dumbarton at the very least.
Kellacher cannot afford to think about those potential positive outcomes just yet though, knowing what is in store for his players.

"I'm very concerned, the pitch is not in the best of conditions,” he explained.
“It's pretty horrendous to the point that it could be quite dangerous in some areas. Both teams struggled with it on Tuesday, and we'll need to manage and play the conditions.
"We may have to adjust to the way we normally play. We try to paint the pictures on the training ground of what to expect and the areas where we might be able to hurt them.
"On Tuesday, I was watching the rain getting heavier and the wind was picking up. I thought it was only going to do more damage. I feel for the groundsman when I seen the pitch, because he has a massive job on his hands.
"There were areas of the pitch where feet were sinking in and that's not good. You just hope no one gets hurt on it.
"You have to take all these things into consideration (when picking a team). There is a lot to think about.
“Nothing changes in terms of our hard work, rolling our sleeves up, and going toe-to-toe. You must have the desire to try and go and win the game, no matter what.”
