Inverness Caledonian Thistle Women’s star Betty Ross has suffered a broken ankle during the club’s first pre-season friendly of the summer.

Ross, who has featured in both midfield and attack for the Caley Jags, will require surgery to fix her ankle, meaning she will be out of action for the long term.

The trip through to Dyce kicked off what looks set to be a busy few weeks for ICT Women as they prepare for the beginning of the 2024/25 SWF Championship campaign.

Next week they will again go on the road to SWPL Two outfit St Johnstone, before returning home for back-to-back home games against Inverurie and Westdyke.

Ross’ absence will only add to the overhaul manager Karen Mason has been somewhat forced into ahead of next season though, with a number of players already leaving the club over the summer meaning Mason’s will look to ICT’s youth sides.
