Climbers in Inverness reached new heights at the final competition of the 2023/24 season at The Ledge climbing gym on Saturday.

The “open” competition saw more than 70 competitors tackling 25 qualifying boulder problems, with the top six males and females then competing in front of an enthusiastic crowd on four specially set problems per category, on the Ledge’s Olympic 2024 replica bouldering wall.

Competitors from as far away as Orkney, Aberdeen and Edinburgh enjoyed the season’s finale at the charity-run venue.

Competitors from age 11 to 81 took part, including members of the GB Climbing Youth Team, Scottish champions and a huge cross-section of Ledge members who entered the Fun-Open competition for the fun of the challenge.

Fun-Comps offer climbing problems which are achievable from an entry level to national standard climbs which demand the highest levels of balance and strength.

The organisers wish to thank all who turned up and look forward to next season which will start as winter draws in.
