Darke looking to make a glow on the Ganges

Karen Darke is embarking on her next Quest 79 adventure at the start of next month.

The Paralympic gold medallist will be joined by friends Christine Graham and Kevin Benstead, both from Inverness, for a cycle down the River Ganges in India.

And the trio are hoping to make the river glow by lighting sponsored candles and sending them downstream.

This particular challenge is more than just a physical one for Darke, as she is looking forward to soaking in the esteem that the river is held in.

“It’s a place that I really have some interest in, the Ganges is a very spiritual place,” Darke explained.
