Scott Davidson aiming to return in peak condition for Nairn County
Nairn County striker Scott Davidson does not want to rush back into action and risk making his injury worse.
It has been a stop-start campaign for the usually ever-present forward, who has dealt with Achilles, knee and thigh issues since returning for pre-season.
In recent weeks, Davidson has been trying to manage his injury to try and contribute in what is currently a threadbare Wee County squad due to the amount of players dealing with knocks.
However, he is determined to get back to full fitness as soon as possible to be at his best on the pitch – and also to avoid making his absence even longer by aggravating existing issues..
“It’s hard to say how much longer I’ll be out for,” Davidson explained.
“I would say over the last month or so we’ve been trying to manage it and I’ve been trying to play.

“Injuries get in your head a wee bit.
“I’ve been having to play one game and then not train the next week, then train the following week and play on the Saturday.
“It’s no use really, and it’s not really fair on other boys, but with the small squad that we have with boys being injured you want to try to power through it and do your bit for the team.
“Are you really helping yourself? Probably not.
“So this time around, I want to try and make sure that everything is right before I come back into the team.”
With so many players missing at the same time, it has been a tough season so far for Nairn.
That does not help the likes of Davidson stay away in the short term if they feel like they can contribute at all, but the striker is confident things will turn around in the new year.
“It’s difficult to watch, but I can see young boys coming in as well – it gives them a chance to show what they can do,” he said.
“We’re 11th at the moment, only two or three points off eighth, so it’s not the worst but we certainly could be doing a lot better.
“There’s plenty of time left before the end of the season, so hopefully in the turn of the year we can get a few boys back and see where we go from there.”
