DEFENDER Flynn Duffy has signed for Championship club Airdrieonians following being made redundant by Inverness Caledonian Thistle last week.

The full-back has joined the Diamonds following being one of five players who left the club as part of the administration process by BDO.

Despite being outwith the transfer window, Duffy was allowed to sign for a new club due to the circumstances of being made redundant as Inverness went into administration.

He is expected to make his debut for Airdrieonians today, who are bottom of the Championship, against Hamilton Academical.

Duffy (21), was one of four players who were made redundant last week, along with Adam Brooks, Wallace Duffy and Cameron Ferguson.

In addition, goalkeeper Jack Newman returned to Dundee United after his loan deal was terminated.

Duffy originally signed for Caley Thistle at the start of August on a one-year contract with an option for a further year.

The 20-year-old was released by Dundee United at the end of last season, having previously spent time on loan at Peterhead and Stirling Albion, where he helped Stirling win the League Two title in the 2022/23 campaign.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle face Kelty Hearts at the Caledonian Stadium in League One today in their first home game since going into administration.
