Inverness Caledonian Thistle are closing in on moving out of administration after Alan Savage was named as the preferred bidder by administrators BDO after his £800,000 bid to take over the club was accepted.

Talks are expected to be concluded in the coming weeks which look set to see Inverness come out of administration which it has been since October.

Earlier this year, chief executive Charlie Christie said that 75 per cent of the current squad were due to be out of contract this summer and it is believed no new deals can be made until they come out of administration.

Savage, whose contract will run out this summer, says the squad are only looking to pick up the results which will guide the team away from ninth place and ensuring they do not need a play-off to ensure their League One survival.

He said: “No one knows how it's going to go.

"There is a lot of talk in the media and things can change, but everything looks pretty positive at the moment.

"That is good for the staff, fans and players.

"We're just concentrating on these last three weeks of the season and these last three games. We will see what happens after that.”

Inverness Caledonian Thistle head to Stenhousemuir this afternoon looking for a result which will keep them at least three points away from Annan Athletic in ninth.

Victory for Caley Thistle along with Annan Athletic losing to Arbroath at Galabank this afternoon would all but guarantee League One survival with two games remaining due to a vastly superior goal difference.

Savage said: "Stenhousemuir are a good side, so we can't think too much about those games this season.

"We will, go out to try and give the best account of ourselves and hopefully we can come back with three points.

"We have a positive away record, so we know we can get wins away from home, which is always a good sign.

"It will be a tough ask, because Stenhousemuir are high up the table on merit, but we're looking forward to it. We've had a good week of training, so hopefully we can implement that in the game on Saturday.”

Inverness Caledonian Thistle are expected to start emergency loan signing goalkeeper Marcus Gill from Celtic, who signed this week with it feared Musa Dibaga may be out for the rest of the season with a hamstring injury.
