FORMER Caley Thistle midfielder Dani Sanchez is now plying his trade on the opposite side of the world.

The Spanish midfielder — who was released by Inverness in the summer — has signed a one-year contract with Wellington Phoenix in New Zealand.

The 26-year-old had options in Sweden, Cyprus and Spain but decided to move to the southern hemisphere.

"It was a long trial but at the end of the day I am happy," he said.
