Ex-ICT star turns down European options for New Zealand

FORMER Caley Thistle midfielder Dani Sanchez is now plying his trade on the opposite side of the world.
The Spanish midfielder — who was released by Inverness in the summer — has signed a one-year contract with Wellington Phoenix in New Zealand.
The 26-year-old had options in Sweden, Cyprus and Spain but decided to move to the southern hemisphere.
His trial period started badly when he picked up an injury to his right quad that necessitated long hours of treatment, but he overcame the set back to sign last week.
"It was a long trial but at the end of the day I am happy," he said.
