Five former Inverness Caledonian Thistle players in the Trust Trophy final as Livingston beat Queen’s Park in Falkirk
FORMER Inverness Caledonian Thistle striker Andrew Shinnie scored for Livingston as they ran riot to lift the SPFL Trust Trophy with a 5-0 win over Queen’s Park.
The Lions proved too good for the Spiders as they cruised to victory in the final at the Falkirk Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Shinnie was at Inverness for two seasons between 2011 and 2013 after arriving from Rangers.
He scored the fourth goal 10 minutes before the end after Robbie Muirhead and Stevie May had put them 2-0 up at half time and Tete Yengi made it 3-0 shortly into the second half.
After Shinnie scored the fourth, Jamie Brandon completed the rout with a scorcher to make it 5-0.
After leaving Inverness, Shinnie joined Birmingham City where he spent five years before moving on to Luton Town and Charlton Athletic. He arrived back in Scotland with Livingston in 2021.
