Inverness Caledonian Thistle former player signs deal with Highland League club Brechin City





FORMER Inverness Caledonian Thistle forward Cillian Sheridan has agreed a new deal with Highland League club Brechin City.

The 36-year-old has signed a one-year extension with the Glebe Park outfit after joining the club last season when they finished in second place.

Sheridan, played for Inverness during the 2023/24 camapign when he signed under former manager Duncan Ferguson.

He spent over two months at the club before leaving and going on to sign for Queen’s Park.

The former Republic of Ireland international played a key role for City in the second half of last season, contributing with 10 goals in 16 appearances. He averaged a goal every 96 minutes, the highest strike rate amongst the City squad last season.

During his career Sheridan has played for clubs in Scotland, England, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Poland, Israel, and New Zealand.

Sheridan was a one of a number of former Inverness Caledonian Thistle players who was at Brechin City. They included Kevin Mchattie Brad Mckay and Anthony McDonald.

Brechin City manager Ray Mackinnon is delighted to retain Sheridan’s services.

He said: “I’m very happy to have Cillian on board for next season - along with being a top player, he brings great experience to lead the line.

“He done brilliantly towards the end of the season and I look forward to working with him again.”
