The 35-year-old is set to call time on his career after today’s Highland League clash against Formartine United in what will be his 400th game in a career which has spanned 20 years in football.

Malin, who is originally from Bellshill, came through the Celtic youth set-up before signing for Ross County in 2005 before heading to Elgin City several times on loan.

He then signed permanently for Brora Rangers in 2013 where he won the Highland League four times, two Highland League Cup and four North of Scotland Cups.

He left Brora Rangers at the end of the 2023/24 campaign and was unsure if he would play again before deciding to sign for Clachnacuddin for the 2024/25 campaign.

He will hang up his gloves after Saturday’s match against Formartine United on the last day of the season at Grant Street Park.

It has also been confirmed that Wayne Mackintosh is set to retire from playing football after Nairn County’s match against Deveronvale at Station Park.
