Golden outing in Forres for Inverness Swimming Club
Inverness Swimming Club’s youngsters proved to be the pick of the bunch at a recent competition in Forres.
They ran riot with a total of 13 gold medals, 12 silver medals and eight bronze medals across the board.
Such success also meant that Inverness scooped the shield that is awarded to the top team on the day.
Club chairwoman Sally Martin was deservedly proud of their tally, praising everyone who attended the event - swimmers, spectators and volunteers alike.
"All the hard work and support from our team of coaches is really paying of, and the results at Forres have really shown that. What a great team spirit we had across the weekend.

"It was fantastic to see all the swimmers young and supporting each other.
"We also had a super team of coaches and parents poolside over the weekend, and like all grass root sports we are very grateful for our volunteers."
Several of the swimmers competed in multiple events, and came away with medals in more than one discipline.
Finlay Sutherland won the 100m butterfly, backstroke, breastroke and individual medley, as well as bronze in the front crawl.
Kaitlin Coia-Gamble led the field in the 100m breaststroke, individual medley and backstroke, and also silver in the butterfly and bronze in freestyle.
Louise Beattie won gold in the fly and free, silver in the breast and IM and bronze in the backstroke.
Katie Hay also won two events, the fly and free, while being runner up in the breast and IM and third place in the backstroke race.
Angus Franklin earned silver in the breaststroke, IM, freestyle and backstroke, as well as winning bronze in the butterfly.
Emmanuel Laditi came second in the freestyle and individual medley, Sam Bryan won gold in the breaststroke and Ellie MacDougall won silver in the breastroke to round off the medal count.
Appropiately enough, Inverness’ success came soon after the club hosted Commonwealth Games entrant James Wilby, who himself won the 200m breastroke at the Edinburgh International Swim meet, which doubled as the British Championships.
