ICT boss impressed by desire of fringe players

John Robertson has praised the attitude of his fringe players who are working hard to break back into his starting 11.

The Inverness boss has kept a settled side for his selections in the early part of the season, with eight players starting all of ICT’s league games so far.

So Robertson has had a tough task on his hands keeping everyone happy, with Aaron Doran last week saying that being left out motivated him to perform when he did get his chance.

While the Caley Thistle boss sympathises with the likes of Doran, he can see the desire of the players on the sidelines to break back into the fold.

“You can only play 11 players, we’ve got 17 outfield players who are all capable of playing in the team, so automatically six players every week are going to be disappointed,” Robertson said.
