Inverness Caley Thistle teenager Ethan Cairns returns to the Highland League on loan after joining Banks O'Dee until the end of the season
Inverness Caledonian Thistle have confirmed that young forward Ethan Cairns has joined Banks O'Dee on loan until the end of the season.
The 19-year-old had spent the first half of the season with Forres Mechanics, who he also played for last season after loan spells at Fort William and Strathspey Thistle in previous campaigns.
He has also made four appearances in all competitions for Caley Thistle's first team, coming off the bench three times in the Scottish Championship in early 2023, scoring a late equaliser against Morton in February to earn a point for ICT.
Banks O'Dee's statement confirming the deal read: "Banks O’Dee are delighted to announce the loan signing of forward player Ethan Cairns, 19, from Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC for the remainder of the 2023/24 Season.
"We would like to thank Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC for their support with this Temporary Transfer. Welcome to the club Ethan."
The Spain Park side have been flying high in the Highland League this season, currently sitting third, and remain in title contention.
In fact, no team has lost fewer games in the division than Banks O'Dee this season, and they will be hoping the extra firepower of Cairns can help them accumulate points in their title challenge.
