Inverness Caledonian Thistle concern over injury to their on loan Buddie
INVERNESS Caledonian Thistle hope Jay Henderson will be able to return quickly to action after being forced off with injury in the victory at Greenock Morton on Saturday.
The on-loan St Mirren midfielder, who has impressed for Inverness since arriving on loan in January, was forced off with an ankle injury after 10 minutes in the 2–1 win at Cappielow.
Now, they face a sweat on when he will be able to return to action as Inverness look to save their dreams of reaching the play-offs.
Head coach Billy Dodds says he took Henderson off as a precaution after he noticed he sustained an injury.
He hopes that he will be able to return to action promptly with their next match against Raith Rovers on Saturday.
“It is one where we will have to take it on the chin and take our medicine,” said Dodds.
“It is something that we have had to do all season.
“The wee man did a couple of stepovers and then stood on the ball, so it was self inflicted.
“The wee man was unlucky and he is an important player for us.
“Hopefully he has only turned it a wee bit and that we have managed to get it in time.”
Caley Thistle have won three of their last four league matches and are six points off the play-off zone with a game in hand on Partick Thistle in fourth.
Dodds says with a strong squad back in place, is confident they are good enough to keep their promotion hopes alive after the end of the regular season.
“We are a team that is capable and can go on long winning runs. We can go on runs where we don’t win games as well.
“Last season we went on a long run without a win and then we got on a run which got us into the play-offs, so we have proven that we can do it. It can come to an end if you don’t back it up though.”
