Forres Mechanics sign Inverness Caledonian Thistle striker Ethan Cairns on loan
FORRES Mechanics have completed the loan signing of Inverness Caledonian Thistle striker Ethan Cairns.
Cairns had two separate spells on loan with the Can-Cans last season and the club has fought off competition from a number of other Highland League sides to bring him back to Mosset Park.
The 18-year-old was in and about the Caley Thistle squad after returning to the club late last season due to an injury crisis in Billy Dodds' squad – scoring as a substitute in a Championship match against Greenock Morton.
The deal will see Cairns stay with Forres until at least January. The news comes shortly after Forres confirmed the departure of centre forward Ben Barron, who has joined Elgin City.
Winger Dylan Lawrence will also become a Forres player – again, until the start of 2024 – as part of the Barron deal.
Cairns and Lawrence will both be available for tomorrow's Highland League opener against Strathspey Thistle. A new centre-half is also expected to feature for Mechanics.
