Inverness Harriers and East Sutherland Athletics Club athletes are crowned champions at North Cross Country League





ROSS GOLLAN and Helen Leigh were crowned senior champions in the North Cross Country League as the final round took place in Forres on Saturday.

Both athletes won all the races in their respective competitions with East Sutherland Athletics Club athlete Gollan claiming the men’s title and Inverness Harriers athlete Leigh winning the women’s title.

East Sutherland Athletics Club athlete Gollan claimed the men’s title with his ESAC teammate Ruaridh Gollan finishing in second place and Ryan Mackay of Lochaber Athletics Club finishing in third place to claim overall bronze.

In the women’s championship, Leigh of Inverness Harriers was crowned champion with teammate Katie Meek finishing in second place and Kirstie Rogan of Highland Hill Runners in third.

Ruaridh Stirling was crowned under-17 men’s champion with Kaeden Thomas of Ross County in second place and Jamie MacGruer of Ross County third.

Sky Simpson of Inverness Harriers won the under-17 women’s title with Rona Laird of Inverness Harriers second and Daisy Hendry of Ross County third.

Billy Sutherland of Ross County won the under-15 boys title and Anna Meek of Inverness Harriers winning the under-15 girls title.

Archie Grant of Inverness Harriers won the under-13 boys title and Niamh Doorley is under-13 girls champion.

Kai Tresidder of Lochaber Athletics Club is under-11 boys champion and Kyla Grant of Inverness Harriers is under-11 girls champion.

East Sutherland Athletics Club won the men’s team title with Highland Hill Runners winning the women’s team title.
